Earth Day Volunteer Invasive Removal Event with Lunch and Tour

  • Sisters of St. Joseph 1725 Brentwood Road, Convent, Building 3 Brentwood, NY, 11717 United States (map)

This Earth Day, join the Sustainability Team of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Brentwood for a full day of hands-on ecological work, meaningful connection, and communion with nature. The morning will begin with an ecological discussion of the day’s project: removing invasive plants and planting natives in the South Leach Meadow. Volunteers will work alongside us to help invigorate this vital meadow, which plays an important role in our water supply.

Attendees should be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing that can get dirty. Lunch and conversation will be provided for all participants, followed by a walking tour of the campus. The Sustainability Team will discuss their ongoing projects and the diverse ecotones found on the Brentwood Campus. All are welcome to attend one or all portions of the event. Those joining us for lunch must register in advance.
